04 September 2014 – The Philippine Consulate General in Guangzhou participated in the golf event of the 2014 Diplomat’s Sports Games held in Guiyang City, Guizhou, China held at the Guiyang Golf resort from July 10 to 13.

The tournament has been held for five consecutive years with the City of Guizhou hosting this year’s sports games. Organized by the China International Sports Exchange Center of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Guangdong Provincial People’s Government, the event aimed to further renew friendship among diplomats in China.  

The participants also attended on July 11 the one-day conference of Guiyang International Forum on Ecological Civilization held at the Guiyang International Conference and Exhibition Center as part of their itinerary.

The Philippines was represented by Col. Bonifacio B. Cebrian, Jr., Defense Attaché; Col. Jose Ma. Victor F. Ramos, Police Liasion Attaché; and Col. Nestor C. Herico, Asst. Defense Attaché from the Philippine Embassy in Beijing, and Messrs. Plaridel S. Ong, Jr. and Tomas C. Lauzon from the Philippine Consulate General in Guangzhou. Col. Cebrian and Mr. Ong received special awards during the golf event.  END
