15 September 2014 – Philippine Consul General Gina A. Jamoralin met with U.S. Senator Mazie K. Hirono on September 5 at the Senator’s Hawaii office on #300 Ala Moana Boulevard. 

The Consul General thanked Senator Hirono for her efforts to assist Filipino World War II veterans and their children including her co-sponsorship of the Filipino Veterans Promise Act. This is expected to help all eligible Filipino veterans to receive the compensation they are entitled to for their service to the U.S. during World War II.

Consul General Jamoralin thanked Senator Hirono for her sponsorship of the bi-partisan bill, the Philippines Charitable Giving Assistance Act, which would accelerate the income tax benefits for charitable cash contributions for the relief of Typhoon Yolanda/Haiyan victims in the Philippines. END
