18 September 2014 - Local executives of IT&E, a Filipino owned telecommunications company operating on Guam and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, hosted Philippine Consul General Marciano R. De Borja for lunch when the latter visited Saipan from September 9 to 10 during the third consular outreach mission of the year conducted by the Philippine Consulate General in Agana.
The lunch meeting was hosted by Ms. Rose Soledad, IT&E Executive Director for Finance and Accounting. Also present were IT&E Senior Systems Administrator Mr. Jorge Soledad, IT&E Executive Director for Contacts Center Mr. Robert Harrell, Philippine Honorary Consul nominee Mr. Glicerio Arago, United Filipino Organizations (UFO) president Maria Annamae Adaza, UFO secretary Mario Mayuga and Consul Mark Francis Hamoy.
During the meeting, Consul General De Borja discussed with the IT&E executives the challenges they faced in running a telecommunications company with several other competitors in CNMI. He also discussed the prospects for expansion of the Filipino-owned company and offered the assistance of the Consulate General in terms of reaching the right official contacts needed to facilitate the business and commercial operations of the company.
