23 September 2014 – Philippine Consul General Marichu Mauro met the Regional Director of the Agenzia delle Entrate (Italian Revenue Agency) for the Lombardy region, Mr. Eduardo Ursilli, on September 18. Mr. Ursulli, joined by seven of his department directors, warmly received the Consulate officials. He stressed that the strengthening of relations with Italian and foreign citizens is one of the most qualifying aspects of the organization.

Consul General Mauro emphasized that Filipinos are law-abiding citizens who work hard in Italy in order to send money to their families in the Philippines and availing of tax deduction in Italy would greatly benefit them. The meeting concentrated on the clarification of requirements and procedures on how Filipino migrant workers can avail of tax benefits.

In order to provide the right information to the Filipino community, the Consulate General will continue to strengthen collaboration with the Agency to enlighten Filipino workers in Italy on their tax benefits and privileges.

The Agenzia delle Entrate, counterpart of the Philippine Bureau of Internal Revenue, is the government agency that enforces the financial code of Italy and collects taxes and revenue. It is supervised by the Minister of Economy and Finance, which maintains control over policy. The Agency acts in full managerial and operational responsibility and has regulatory, administrative, patrimonial, organizational, accounting and financial autonomy. END
