29 September 2014 - The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), upon the invitation of the Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong SAR, deployed a four-person team to extend basic services to overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in Hong Kong from September 12 to 15.  

Led by Ms. Chona S. Yap of the Overseas Filipinos Program, the PhilHealth team undertook information activities, enrolled new members and issued Member Data Records (MDRs) and identification cards to current PhilHealth members.

During the three-day outreach mission, the team set up Information Desks for one-on-one consultations at the Metrobank remittance outlet at the World Wide House in Central Hong Kong, the Bayanihan Centre in Kennedy Town and the Consulate General in the Admiralty area. Ms. Yap also made her campaign pitch over radio program “Good Evening Kabayan” and conducted a briefing on PhilHealth services and coverage at the Consulate.

The team provided services to more than 1,000 OFWs. END
