Honolulu29 July 2013 - Philippine Consul General in Honolulu Julius D. Torres was a guest speaker at the 59th Annual Installation of Officers and Board of Directors of the Filipino Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii (FCCH) on July 02, at the Tapa Ballroom of the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Since its establishment in 1954, the FCCH has been the steadfast and effective partner of Filipino businesses in Hawaii through its various projects and programs aimed at broadening opportunities for Filipino entrepreneurs and strengthening business linkage between Hawaii and the Philippines.  One of its major and notable projects is the annual Trade Mission to the Philippines held at the start of the year.

The program was highlighted by the remarks of the Guest of Honor, Mayor Kirk Caldwell of Honolulu. He also officiated the oath taking of the new Officers and Board of Directors of PCCH 2013-2014.

Honolulu 2Mayor Caldwell, who was sworn in as the city’s Mayor in January 2013, conveyed that he looks forward to joining the 24th Trade Mission to the Philippines of the FCCH in February 2014.

The installation ceremonies  was attended by government officials of the State of Hawaii and, Filipino-American business organizations, officers and members of different Fil-Am associations of Hawaii and major sponsors. END
