30 September 2014 - Philippine Ambassador to South Korea Raul S. Hernandez said the forthcoming installation of a new online database by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) at the Philippine Embassy in Seoul will result in more efficient and more transparent delivery of public services.

Ambassador Hernandez was briefed on the new system by a visiting DOLE team led by Acting Assistant Secretary for Policy, Programs and International Relations Katherine B. Brimon, who called on him at the Embassy Chancery on September 03.

The DOLE Foreign Labor Operations Information System (DOLE FLOIS) now being prepared for a public roll-out at the Embassy’s Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) is a real time system database which aims to provide information that may be considered for policy formulation and to further service delivery.

“It is a system that will generate reports on the foreign labor operations required by both the internal and external clients of the DOLE,” Brimon told Ambassador Hernandez during their call.

Ambassador Hernandez lauded DOLE’s thrust of pursuing more systems improvement and using online technology towards better and more efficient public services delivery.

“DOLE’s introduction of an innovative online system and databases will make its transactions and processes more convenient, accessible and transparent, which translates to improved POLO services,” he said.

POLO South Korea, which is represented by Labor Attaché Atty. Felicitas Q. Bay, serves as the DOLE’s overseas operating arm and it subscribes to the One Country Team Approach under the leadership of the Ambassador/Head of Mission. END
