02 October 2014 – The Samahang Manggagawang Babae (SMB) celebrated its third anniversary on September 14 with a simple gathering attended by Philippine Embassy officials as well as representatives from the International Labor Organization (ILO) and the National Federation of Trade Unions of Workers and Employees of Lebanon (FENASOL). The celebration was held at the St. Francis Church in Hamra, Beirut.

In her message, Philippine Ambassador to Lebanon Leah M. Basinang-Ruiz congratulated the officers and members of the SMB as they celebrate their third year anniversary. She encouraged them to be role models to their fellow kababayans and to be at the forefront of upholding the dignity of Filipino women in their workplaces and promoting the welfare of Filipino women migrant workers in Lebanon. Ambassador Ruiz also assured the officers and members of the SMB of the Embassy’s support for their organization. END
