02 October 2014 - Philippine Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Grace Relucio–Princesa attended the three-day Hotel Show in Dubai’s World Trade Center  from September 28 to 30 to support the Department of Trade and Industry - Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM) and the eight Philippine exhibitors of world-class furniture and furnishings who participated in the said three-day event.

Branded “The Philippines: Beyond Artisanship”, the Philippine pavilion showcased eight leading home design companies at the Hotel Show. These were Ann Pamintuan, Finali Furniture and Home Accessories Co., Johansen World Group Corp., Lightworks Resources, Inc., Maze Manufacturing Co., Inc., More Than a Chair, Shell Art Co., Inc., and South Sea Veneer. The Philippine contingent exhibited a diverse range of certified export-quality contract furniture pieces and home accents in the 98-square meter Pavilion.

The Hotel Show, which is celebrating its 15th year, is MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region’s leading and largest hospitality and supplies show with participants from almost 600 regional and international companies. This year, a dedicated area called International Village featured over 300 exhibitors from 29 countries including Austria, Belgium, China, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, India, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Turkey, Thailand, the UK, and the Philippines.

The event was inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline & Group and Dnata. Sheikh Saeed is also the President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Vice Chairman of Dubai World Trade Center.

 

Philippine Consul General Frank Cimafranca, Philippine Trade and Investment Center Commercial Counsellor Paisal Abdullah, Third Secretaries and Vice Consuls Ferdinand Flores and Rowena Pangilinan-Daquipil and Attaché Delza Lourdes Bayabao joined Ambassador Relucio–Princesa in the three-day event to give support to the Philippine exhibitors.
