02 October 2014 – ThePhilippine Embassy in Abuja, Nigeria conducted an outreach activity to the children of Bema Homes for the less privileged on September 27.
The outreach, which included a feeding program and donation of kinds and cash, was met with appreciation and gratitude by Mrs. Benedicta C. Jereke, Chair of the Board of Directors of the children center.
Mrs. Jereke, or Sister Benedicta, as she is more known as, together with Mr. Benedict Jereke, Director of the center, thanked the Philippine Embassy for its untiring and continuous support to the causes of the center. Bema Homes has been a recipient of the Philippine Embassy’s outreach programs and has been invited to the charity bazaars organized at the Philippine Embassy to sell the products and handicrafts made by the children, in support of the skills development thrust of the center.
The children also performed a choreographed song and dance number to the delight of the audience and Philippine Embassy staff.
Bema Homes was founded in September 2001 by Mrs. Benedicta C. Jereke. The center is committed to the total care of the education of the young people particularly orphans and the less privileged children. END
