02 October 2014 - The Philippine Embassy in Rome conducted a consular outreach mission from September 27 to 28 in the port city of Livorno, situated along the west coast of Tuscany, Italy. With the support of and in close coordination with the Philippine Consulate General of Florence, the Confederation of the Filipino Community Association in Tuscany and the Filipino community of Livorno, the outreach was the first-ever conducted in Livorno and successfully served around 350 Filipinos.

Among the services rendered were the processing of 227 e-Passport applications, 54 affidavits/reports of births/SPAs, 84 Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) membership and 92 Pag-IBIG memberships, both new and for reactivation. Applications for NBI clearances, dual citizenship, and extension of passports were also processed during the outreach.

In line with the Philippine Embassy’s active drive to register Filipinos for the purpose of overseas voting, the outreach also successfully registered 209 new overseas voters.

The eight-man Embassy Consular and Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) team was led by Philippine Consul General/Charge d’Affaires, a.i. Leila Lora-Santos. END
