04 October 2014 – Giselle “G” Töngi paid a courtesy call on Philippine Consul General Leo Herrera-Lim at the Philippine Consulate General in Los Angeles on September 30.

Ms. G. Töngi is a former actress in Philippine film and television for 15 years and is the new host and producer of America’s first and only daily talk show, “Kababayan Today,” a show for and about the Filipino-American community produced by LA18.  

“Kababayan Today” provides a platform for discussion of significant local and international issues by featuring information coverage, interviews and distinguished personalities as guests. The show remains the only Filipino media outlet in Southern California and Hawaii, via syndication on KIKU-TV, to engage the community-at-large daily.

The highly acclaimed talk show is the nation’s longest running locally produced daily program that has consistently featured resources relevant to Filipino-Americans and help them thrive in the United States.

Consul General Herrera-Lim and Ms. G. Töngi agreed to have more collaborative activities to increase awareness of the Filipino community and the achievements of the Filipino-Americans in Southern California in the political, economic and socio-economic streams. END
