07 October 2014 – The Philippines and the Republic of Korea held the 3rd Consular Consultation Meeting in Seoul, South Korea on September 23.
Heading the delegation for the Republic of the Philippines was Department of Foreign Affairs Assistant Secretary Wilfredo C. Santos Office of the Consular Affairs Office, joined by the ranking officials of the Philippine Embassy in Seoul led by Philippine Ambassador to South Korea Raul S. Hernandez, Consul General Iric C. Arribas, Consul Aian Caringal, and Labor Attache Felicitas Bay.
The meeting discussed various issues relevant to the bilateral relations between the Philippines and South Korea which included the protection of each country’s nationals, visa-related concerns, labor and Employment Permit System matters, and cooperation initiatives in the field of education and people-to-people exchanges.
The Philippines reiterated its commitment to further strengthen the dynamic Philippines-South Korea relations and enhance its cooperative efforts in matters of mutual interest.
The eight-member Korean delegation was spearheaded by the Director General for Overseas Koreans and Consular Affairs of the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Lee Myun-yul. END
