10 October 2014 - The Filipino and local community in Guam were enthralled by a friendly basketball game between the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Smart Talk ‘N Text and the Guam National Basketball Team held at the University of Guam (UOG) Fieldhouse on October 04.

Dubbed as “Showdown at the Fieldhouse,” the exhibition game was organized by Docomo Pacific, a local telecommunication company in Guam, and Philippines Airlines for the benefit of two non-profit organizations on the island –the Special Olympics Guam and the Guam Basketball Confederation.

Philippine Consul General Marciano R. de Borja, together with Guam Senator Brant McCreadie, made the ceremonial toss of the ball at the start of the game which was considered by both the Filipinos and local basketball enthusiasts as a special treat.

The Philippines’ Smart Talk ‘N Text team quickly recovered from the half-time break to win the game with the final score of 94 against 66 of the Guam national team. END
