10 October 2014 - The Philippine Embassy in Athens sent a consular team to Cyprus on October 2 to 6 for a consular outreach.
The six-member consular team also included a Pag-IBIG representative. It was conducted in close cooperation with the Philippine Honorary Consulate in Nicosia and with the assistance of some members of the Overseas Filipino Volunteers in Cyprus.
The consular team processed a total of 577 e-Passport applications and other services such as reports of birth and marriage, affidavits and certifications.
The team conducted consultations with the Filipino community on dual citizenship, change of status for Filipinas married to Cypriot nationals, balikbayan privileges, registration of births and marriages, as well as contributions to Pag-IBIG, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), etc.
There were 428 Filipinos who availed themselves of the overseas voters registration services. A total of 393 applied for registration as overseas voters, 13 applied for reactivation of registration records, 21 applied for change of address within the same consular jurisdiction, 14 requested for transfer of registration records and one applied for correction of wrong entries in the voter’s ID or national registry of overseas voters.
