13 October 2014 - A team from the St. Vincent Medical Center conducted its first medical outreach program for 2014 at the Philippine Consulate General in Los Angeles on October 07.
St. Vincent Medical Center is scheduled to conduct regular medical outreach programs every 1st Tuesday of the month at the community hall of the Philippine Consulate General.
The medical team from St. Vincent Medical Center provided participants with:
• Free screenings: Body Fat Analysis/BMI, Glucose/Diabetes Screenings with Counseling, and Blood Pressure
• Free services: Mammogram screening referrals, information on Low-Cost/Free Health Insurance such as Medi-Cal, information on Covered California/Affordable Care Act, information on chronic diseases such as cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and information on nutrition.
The program was conducted under the terms of the Memorandum of Agreement forged between the Philippine Consulate General and St. Vincent Medical Center on February 05, 2013 as a demonstration of the Consulate General’s commitment to provide services to the Filipino community in Los Angeles. END
