15 October 2014 - The Philippine Embassy in Santiago promoted Philippine tourist destinations and culture at the Fiesta de las Naciones from October 10 to 12 at the Munich Events Center in the town of Malloco in Santiago, Chile.

The Fiesta de las Naciones, now on its fifth year, showcases music, dance, crafts and gastronomy from more than 30 countries from five continents. It was widely covered by print, television and social media. The fourth edition in 2013 saw the attendance of 20,000 people.

The Philippine booth featured large panels depicting the Banaue Rice Terraces with a display of a woman’s traditional costume from the Mountain Province. Videos of top Philippine destinations were shown through-out the three-day event and tourism brochures were handed out. Guests helped themselves to colorfully-wrapped polvoron, which was their first taste of Filipino cuisine. Members of the Philippine Embassy provided information to the many visitors to the booth.

The Filipino-owned Delicias de Filipinas restaurant also participated in the fair and was very popular among the visitors. They offered traditional Filipino food such as lechon, chicken adobo, barbecue, pancit, leche flan, cassava cake and halo-halo. END
