17 October 2014 – Deputy Mayor of the Commune of Saint Josse, Brussels Eric Jassin called on Philippine Ambassador to Belgium Victoria S. Bataclan on October 13 to convey his Commune’s proposal for the establishment of cooperation between Saint Josse and a local government unit in the Philippines in areas such as socio-cultural exchanges, educational exchanges, health and humanitarian projects and mutual exchanges of experiences.
Mr. Jassin, who is also responsible for Public Works, Tourism and International Relations and Cooperation, will travel to the Philippines in March 2015 to meet interested local government officials. Currently, St. Josse has an existing agreement with a Commune in Morocco for a 3-year project that promotes children and women’s basic education, with added arts and music training, for a well-rounded school experience.
Ambassador Bataclan welcomed the proposal of Mr. Jassin and his team and conveyed the Embassy’s assistance and support to their project and proposed visit to the Philippines. END
