22 October 2014 - The Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong participated in the 2nd SCCHK Charity Bowling Tournament, organized by the Square and Compass Club of Hong Kong (SCCHK) held at the Dragon Bowling Centre in Kowloon on September 20.
A total of 20 teams from various Filipino organizations and business groups took part in the annual event, which aims to raise funds to support the charity activities of SCCHK. The Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong fielded its own team composed of Philippine Consul General Bernardita L. Catalla, Ms. Bernadeth Aranzaso (team captain), Ms. Luz Iglesias, Mr. Florentino Granada and Mr. Danilo Baldon.
In her remarks, Consul General Bernardita L. Catalla congratulated the SCCHK for organizing the annual tournament which promotes interaction and foster friendship among Filipino organizations and other business groups for a cause. This year, proceeds from the tournament are intended for the “Adopt a School Program” in Tondo, Manila and Solar Power Donation for Sitio Cablao, General Nakar, Quezon.
The Consul General was joined at the tournament’s ceremonial roll-off by Mr. Rafael “Paeng” Nepomuceno, six- time World Bowling Champion and Mr. Edwin Gutierrez, chairman of SCCHK.
The teams Filipino Bowling Club (FBC) Bowling Buddies 1, FBC Bowling Buddies 2 and Vinci Construction emerged champions in Class A, Class B and Class C respectively. Mr. Stephen Chan and Ms. Jenny Biasca received the Male and Female Highest Pin Falls and Highest Number of Strikes award. END
