23 October 2014 - On September 26, Philippine Ambassador to Portugal Philippe J. Lhuillier met with Dr. Luis Reto, Rector of the Instituto Universitário de Lisboa (ISCTE-IUL) in Lisbon, Portugal.

According to Dr. Reto, ISCTE-IUL is interested in establishing linkages and a partnership with a Philippine university. In addition, Ambassador Lhuillier was briefed on the university’s MFamily Program under the European Union’s Erasmus Plus program. Dr. Reto requested the help of Ambassador Lhuillier and of the Philippine Embassy to disseminate information on the scholarship grants they will be offering to qualified Filipinos.

The MFamily Program is a Masters in Social Work with Families and Children. It offers a joint degree from its four participating institutions: ISCTE-IUL, University of Stavanger of Norway, University of Gothenburg of Sweden and University of Makarere of Uganda. One Filipino graduate student is already enrolled for this year’s course. For next year’s course opening, up to 2 grants may be awarded to qualified Filipino applicants. The MFamily program will be accepting applications for scholarship grants for Filipino applicants starting 01 October up to 31 December 2014.
