23 October 2014 - Philippine Ambassador to the Court of St. James Enrique A. Manalo addressed the members of the Diplomatic Society of the Royal Holloway, University of London on October 16.
Ambassador Manalo was invited by the Royal Holloway Diplomatic Society (RH DipSoc) as its first ambassador-guest speaker for the year. The RH DipSoc is a network of the university’s students and academics and organises events with professionals in the field of diplomacy.
In his speech, Ambassador Manalo discussed the Philippines in general: its recent economic resurgence, pre- and post-Typhoon Yolanda/ Haiyan; its foreign policy; Philippine relations with Britain; and the Philippine arbitration case against China.
The Ambassador’s speaking engagement is in line with the Embassy’s campaign to raise the level of awareness among the British public on the Philippines, particularly on the Government’s policies on certain issues. END
