23 October 2014 - The Philippine Embassy in Ankara registered 95 Filipino seafarers aboard seven ships visiting the port of Mersin, Turkey from October 9 to 11. The Embassy team visited M/V Auriga Leader, M/V Narvik, M/V Makra, M/V Nellloyd Tasman, M/V Cap harisson, CMB Mistral and M/V Stellar Peace.

Minister and Philippine Consul General Robert O. Ferrer, and Consular Assistant and Attaché Jose Aguilera, Jr., overseas voters registration operator, together with Assistance-To-Nationals officer and Attaché Ceferino Caldez, boarded the ships with the permission of their respective captains. Philippine Honorary Consul General in Mersin Sukru Diyab coordinated with the port authorities of Mersin international Port (MIP) in getting port entry permits for the team. 

The Embassy will duplicate this activity in the other major ports of Turkey such as in Tuszla, Istanbul and Izmir, in addition to continuing registrations in Mersin. END
