23 October 2014 - Minister and Philippine Consul General Robert O. Ferrer, Jr. (2nd from right) called on Mersin Mayor Burhanettin Kocamaz (seated) during the course of a three-day consular mission to Filipino seafarers in the Mersin International Port. Koralp Ozkut, in charge of international relations, was also present at the meeting held on October 10.
Consul General Ferrer was accompanied by Philippine Honorary Consul General Sukru Diyab (seated at left). They discussed a possible sister-city agreement between Davao and Mersin to open up trade opportunities. Mr. Ferrer made a brief spiel about Davao City and past efforts to initial a sister-city agreement. Mayor Kocamaz stated that he looked forward to receiving an invitation from the Mayor of Davao. END
