Honolulu APCSS23 October 2014 - Philippine Consul General in Hawaii Gina Jamoralin visited and met with the Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies (APCSS) Director, (ret.) Lt. Gen. Dan Leaf and APCSS Development Advisor and Professor Dr. Lori Forman on October 10.

Consul General Jamoralin was given a tour of the facility and the rooms where APCSS fellows from different parts of the world undertake various studies to advance Asia-Pacific security.

General Leaf expressed optimism that with the support of Philippine Consul General, who is herself an APCSS alumna, the Philippine Consulate General and the APCSS will have greater opportunities for collaboration.

The APCSS is a United States Department of Defense academic institute that addresses regional and global security issues.  Military and civilian representatives from the US and Asia-Pacific countries participate in a comprehensive program of executive education, professional exchanges and short-term courses.  APCSS’ mission is to build capacities by educating, connecting and empowering security practitioners in the Asia-Pacific region.  A number of Philippine high level officials have participated in APCSS exchange programs and courses, including Consul General Jamoralin who attended an APCSS security course held in Nha Trang, Vietnam in 2013.
