berlin consular

29 October 2014 – A Philippine Embassy team composed of Ms. Melinda Hernais, Ruben C. Atienza, Ms. Rowena Adaya Hernandez and Mr. Armand Mahinay proceeded to Essen on October 18 to render mobile consular services to Filipinos and German nationals alike.

Philippine Honorary Vice Consul in Essen Milagros Wandelt provided full support for queue maintenance, processing and physical arrangements. The activity was held at the multi-purpose hall of the Bank im Bistum Essen.

Despite the announcement of a weekend strike that affected Deutsche Bahn’s regional and intercity services, more than 160 Filipinos traveled to Essen to have their passports renewed. The team was able to accept a total of 201 consular applications, which included 160 for passport renewals, and 40 for authentication, certification and civil registry reports.

The Philippine Embassy in Berlin will hold the final consular mobile outreach for the year at the Őkumenische Forum Hafen City in Hamburg on November 29. Applicants who failed to register in Essen may apply directly and pre-register with the Embassy. END
