29 October 2014 - AAC Technologies PTE Ltd., a subsidiary of AAC Technologies Holdings, Inc. and an established designer, developer and manufacturer of a broad range of miniature technology components and a world leading supplier of micro component total solutions for communications, IT and consumer electronics market, has formalized its investment in the Philippines by establishing AAC Optics Philippines in Gateway Business Park in Gen.Trias, Cavite. It took over the operations of J-Tech Phils. Inc., a Korean-based semi-conductor company, whose clientele includes Samsung Electronics. The formal signing signifying the start of AAC Optics Philippines, the initial investment of AAC Technologies Holdings, Inc. in the Philippines was held on October 23 at the Gold Coast Hotel in Tuen Mun, Hong Kong.
Its products are found in mobile handsets, tablets, ultrabooks, notebooks, electronic bookreaders, and wearable devices. The company’s venture into new optic products, particularly the mobile speakers of the new Samsung smartphones, will be manufactured in the Philippines.
The Company is global in scope with R&D centers in China and Singapore, testing laboratories in Singapore and Korea, manufacturing facilities in China and sales offices throughout the world. Forbes Magazine has listed AAC Technologies Holdings with Asia’s 200 Best Under A Billion List.
Mr. Richard Mok Joe Kuen, Executive Director of AAC Technologies Holdings, Inc., revealed plans to expand its existing facilities in Cavite and increase its manpower from 1,800 to 5,000 next year should they be successful in bidding for the Samsung contract. He expects that 20-30% of the company’s revenue will be generated from the Philippine investment. END
