29 October 2014 – Overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) based in Jerusalem and nearby cities were able to avail themselves of consular services when the Philippine Embassy in Tel Aviv, with the support of the Good Shepherd Filipino Catholic Community, conducted a mobile consular mission on October 19 at the city’s Holy Rosary Sister’s Convent.
Led by Vice Consul Bryan Jess T. Baguio and Labor Attaché Rodolfo G. Gabasan, the team offered consular services, such as passport processing and releasing, notarials (special power of attorney and registration of birth), voluntary registration and issuance of Embassy ID, overseas voters registration, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) membership contribution and overseas employment certificate. An estimated 150 OFWs benefited from various services during the consular outreach.
In line with its mission of making its services more accessible to Filipino workers, the Philippine Embassy conducts mobile services in various parts of Israel, especially in cities with high concentration of Filipinos, such as Jerusalem. END
