29 October 2014 - On the occasion of the Filipino-American Historical Month, Philippine Consul General Gina Jamoralin spoke before three different Filipino-American groups where she lauded Filipino communities in Hawaii for fostering unity, camaraderie and mutual help among their members. She praised them for fostering the spirit of “Ohana” or one family among the Filipino community.

On October 11, during the oath-taking of new officers of the Filipino-American League of Engineers and Architects (FALEA), Consul General praised FALEA for promoting a high standard of professionalism among engineers, architects and surveyors and helping project a positive image for Filipino professionals. On the same evening, she also delivered a speech during the 21st Annual Coronation Ball of the Crusaders of the Divine Church of Christ Philippines. The dinner event aimed to help the organization purchase a property which will become the future site of the Divine Church of Christ. This will help the group effectively minister to the spiritual needs of its members.

On October 12, the Consul General spoke before the Oahu Filipino Community Council (OFCC) which is a federation of Filipino organizations in Honolulu City and County and in the Island of Oahu in Hawaii.  Hawaii state and legislative officials and Honululu Council Members  officials were in attendance, including US Senator for Hawaii Brian Schatz, Hawaii House Vice-Speaker John Mizuno, Hawaii Senate Member Will Espero, Honolulu City Council Members Ron Menor and Kymberly Marcos Pine,  Honolulu Chief of Police Louis Kealoha and Republican candidate for Governor Duke Aiona.

During these three events, Consul General Jamoralin thanked the Filipino community for helping Vigan City land in the top fourteen (14) for the New Seven Wonder Cities of the World. She again called on the Filipino community to vote for Vigan City between October 07 until December 07 this year to qualify for the final round in the New Seven Wonder Cities of the World. She also reiterated her call for Filipinos in Hawaii to register as overseas voters at the Philippine Consulate General for the 2016 national elections. Consul General Jamoralin remarked that by failing to register as overseas voters, Filipinos lose the chance to have a voice in the future of the Philippines.  END
