30 October 2014 – The Philippine Consulate General in Chongqing, China promoted the Philippines as a destination for tertiary education in the recently concluded 10th Yunnan International Education Exhibition (Autumn) in Kunming, Yunnan Province from October 25 to 26.
The Consulate General’s booth distributed brochures from various Philippine universities as well as its own brochures containing information about course offerings, admission requirements, visa issuance, and other details about living and studying in the Philippines. Highlighting the advantages of studying in the Philippines: quality education, affordability, good social environment, proximity to China, and travel and tourism opportunities, the Consulate General sought to attract students from Yunnan as well as from other parts of Southwest China.
The Consulate General featured numerous Philippine universities including University of the Philippines, Ateneo de Manila University, University of Sto. Tomas, De La Salle Universiry, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, University of the East, Philippine Normal University, Southern Luzon State University, Centro Escolar University, Miriam College, Tytana College, MAPUA Institute of Technology, Manuel S. Envegra University Foundation, Bulacan State University and the Asian Institute of Management.
Local and foreign educational institutions from the United States, Thailand, Japan and Singapore also joined the exhibit.
Side by side with marketing the Philippines as a destination for overseas education, the Consulate General also promoted the Philippines as a tourist destination with tourism brochures also given out during the exhibit. END
