30 October 2014 – The Philippine Consulate General in New York travelled again to New England from October 11 to 12, to provide services to Filipinos and Filipino-Americans during a two-day consular outreach. The team of eight, led by Vice Consul Khrystina Corpuz, went to New Hampshire and Massachusetts for the back-to-back outreach weekend.
The team’s first stop was in New Hampshire where the Filipino American Friendship Society of New Hampshire (FAFSNH) co-sponsored the activity at the VFW Post in Merrimack, NH. A total of 65 applications for passport, dual citizenship and legal services were processed. Registration for overseas voting was also done on site.
The following day in Foxboro, Massachusetts, the National Association of Filipino American Associations-MA (NaFFAA), Philippine American Advocacy for Nonpartisan Association (PAMANA) and Philippine American Association of New England (PAMAS) worked together to provide the venue, refreshments and volunteers to help out during the activity. A total of 126 consular applications were received and processed.
The next consular outreach will be held on November 15 in Newington, Connecticut and November 16 in Portland, Maine. More details are available on www.newyorkpcg.org. END
