31 October 2014 – The Philippine Embassy in Dhaka conducted a consular outreach mission in Male and Colombo from October 17 to 19, the second this year, in response to the increasing demand for consular services of Filipinos in Maldives and Sri Lanka.
The “Embassy on Wings” team, composed of Philippine Embassy Administrative Officer Francia R. Ybañez, and consular assistants Ms. Marife Guba-Soriano and Ms. Sylvestra Marundan, provided services such as issuance of passports and visas, civil registrations and authentication of documents to 93 applicants. A total of 42 e-Passports were issued to Filipinos in Male and 51 e-Passports and other consular documents in Colombo.
Aside from rendering consular services, the team also stretched the outreach to conducting overseas voters registration in the May 2016 National Elections, netting a total of 61 registrants – 37 in Maldives and 24 in Sri Lanka. END
