03 November 2014 - On October 26, the Philippine Consulate General (PCG) in Geneva began its project entitled: “Geneva PCG Ko, Bukas ng Linggo!!!”
As the title suggests, the project entails providing consular services on a Sunday. This move was in response to the appeal by members of the Filipino community in Geneva who would not be available on a weekday or Saturday due to their work schedule.
The Consulate General also conducted Overseas Voting Registration, while the Labor Office extended Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Social Security System (SSS) and Pag-IBIG services.
The Filipino community in Geneva appreciated the opportunity to carry out their consular transactions on a Sunday and expressed hope that the PCG could continue with their efforts.
They also appreciated the opportunity to talk to Philippine Ambassador Cecilia B. Rebong and the other Officers with their various concerns.
The Geneva PCG has identified November 30 as the next “Bukas ng Linggo” day. This event will coincide with the “Magtanong kay Doc: A forum to discuss reproductive health, breast cancer and HIV/Aids”. END
