06 November 2014 – Philippine Consul General Marciano R. de Borja paid a courtesy call on Republic of Palau President Tommy Remengesau and other top officials of Palau on October 29 to discuss issues and concerns affecting Filipinos in Palau, including investments and business prospects for Philippine companies.
Consul General de Borja presented a box of tablea chocolates from Cebu as well as a copy of his new book, “The State Department Boys”, as his gifts to President Remengesau.
After meeting with the Palau President, Consul General de Borja also called on Vice-President and Minister of Justice Antonio Bells at the latter’s office in Koror on October 29. Consul General de Borja presented Vice President Bells a gift of a bottle of mango rhum from the Philippines.
Prior to meeting with the President and the Vice President, the Consul General first met with Minister of State Billy Kuartei in the morning of October 29 at Palasia Hotel. They discussed issues to promote and enhance relations between the Philippines and Palau. Also present were Philippine Consul Edgar Tomas Q. Auxilian, Philippine Honorary Consul Eric Whipps, and Minister Kuartei’s assistant. The Consul General presented Minister Kuartei with a copy of his newly published book, “The State Department Boys”.
