07 November 2014 - The 2014 edition of the Philippine Art Trek was officially launched on November 03 with the symbolic opening of the group exhibit, “Four Styles, Four Moods, Four Pinoy Moderns”, at the Philippine chancery at 20 Nassim Road, Singapore.

The event drew a crowd of art enthusiasts from the diplomatic community in Singapore, locals, the Filipino community and guests from the Philippines.

The four-man show featured the works of Philippine artists Ed Defensor, Pierre Patricio, Dennis Montera, and Harry Mark Gonzales. They are the first of six art exhibitions that comprise this year’s Philippine Art Trek in selected art galleries that include di Legno Gallery, Galerie Sogan & Art, Silverlens, ARND Gallery and Artesan.

Speaking in a Philippine Art Trek event for the first time since assuming his position last May 29, Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Antonio A. Morales thanked the guests for their interest. He also conveyed his appreciation to the initiative’s supporters, such as the Lee Foundation and Credit Suisse.

Ambassador Morales said that the Philippine Embassy intends to continue the Art Trek, which is a unique platform that opens opportunities for Philippine-based artists in Singapore and helps promotes stronger people-to-people relations through a better understanding of the Philippines and its arts.
