07 November 2014 - The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver conducted a back-to-back consular outreach activity in the cities of Calgary and Edmonton from October 20 to 28 to provide passport, notarial and civil registry services for Filipinos living in the Alberta Province. A total of 692 applications for passport renewals and first-time applicants were processed in Calgary while 679 applications were received from Edmonton using the Consulate General’s appointment system. Aside from availing of consular services, the residents of Calgary and Edmonton took advantage of the outreach event for overseas voters registration for the 2016 national elections. All in all, there was a total of 676 new registrants for the overseas voting.

 The Consulate General played a slide presentation in the waiting area to invite Filipinos living in Calgary and nearby cities to participate in the Winter Escapade tour to the Philippines from January 30 to February 6, 2015. The program entices the members of the Filipino-Canadian community to visit the Philippines to escape from the harsh winter months in Canada.

 The consular outreach in Calgary was held at the Calgary Police Services near downtown Calgary while the outreach in Edmonton was conducted at the Howard Johnson Hotel. Philippine Consul General Neil Frank Ferrer thanked Calgary Police officials and the teams of volunteers in both Calgary and Edmonton for their valuable support and assistance to the Consulate General team.
