10 November 2014 – The Philippine Embassy in Tripoli extended consular outreach missions in Tunis, Tunisia from October 24 to 25 and in Casablanca, Morocco on October 27, 28 and 31 led by Chargé d’ Affaires, e.p. Adelio Angelito S. Cruz.
In Tunis, the consular services rendered by the Philippine Embassy team included passport renewals and notarials. The team also attended to several Assistance-To-Nationals (ATN) cases including queries on labor issues.
In Casablanca, overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) availed of passport renewal, passport extension, replacement of lost passport, notarials, and report of birth. There were also ATN cases attended by the team.
Since Morocco is now under the jurisdiction of Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) Madrid, the OFWs relayed to the Embassy their urgent request for a separate outreach mission from POLO and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) officials from Madrid to address and resolve ongoing labor cases.
