10 November 2014 - The Philippine Consulate General in Agana, Guam conducted a mobile consular mission in Koror, Palau from October 28 to 31.
Philippine Consul General Marciano R. de Borja, together with Consul Edgar Tomas Q. Auxilian, led the consular team composed of Ms. Liza Manarin, Ms. Mildred Sayurin, Mr. Francisco Magno and Mr. Emmanuel Garcia.
The consular team was also ably assisted by Philippine Honorary Consul to Palau Eric Ksau Whipps and his staff, who were responsible for the excellent arrangements, as well as several volunteers from the Filipino community
The mobile consular mission processed a total of 197 e-Passports, 20 passport extensions, 16 notarials/authentication, 3 reports of marriage, 7 reports of birth, 4 visa applications and 5 Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) contract verifications. The team also registered a total of 106 new overseas voters for the May 2016 national elections.
Aside from delivering consular services, the consular team also rendered Assistance-to-Nationals (ATN) services to the 33 Filipino fishermen from General Santos City that were apprehended and held by the Palau Marine Law police authorities last October 8 and 17 for entering Palau waters.
On October 30, Consul General de Borja and Consul Auxilian also met with other Filipinos in Palau who have pending assistance-to-nationals cases.
The consular team also engaged with the Filipino community in Palau at a town hall meeting on October 30 at the Koror Elementary School to discuss and address concerns, particularly their consular needs. Consul General de Borja thanked the Filipino Community in Palau (TFCP), the umbrella organization of Filipino associations in Palau, and all the Filipinos in Palau for their active participation in the community and continued cooperation and support to the Consulate.
