12 November 2014 – Representatives from the Philippine Embassy in Rome traveled to the Puglian capital of Bari to extend consular services and overseas voters registration to Filipino communities in Italy’s easternmost region from November 08 to 09.
The eight-member consular team, headed by Vice Consul Margret Malang, processed 207 passport renewal applications, 73 notarials, 23 reports of birth, eight reports of marriage, eight certificates, and three petitions for dual citizenship.
Labor Attaché Viveca Catalig and Welfare Officer Loreta Vergara of the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) also joined the outreach and made themselves available for consultation with Filipinos in the area.
Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Project Term Personnel Dennis Ricaplaza was able to register 234 new overseas voters and provided information to interested Filipinos on overseas voting and the upcoming 2016 national elections. END
