14 November 2014 – Philippine Ambassador to Bangladesh Vicente Vivencio T. Bandillo called on Bangladesh Foreign Affairs Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali, MP on November 12 to discuss ways forward on enhancing closer ties between their countries.

Minister Mahmood Ali expressed interest in elevating the level of economic cooperation between the Philippines and Bangladesh through increase in trade and exchange of expertise particularly in business process outsourcing and shipbuilding. 

Ambassador Bandillo said that the Philippines welcomes any initiatives geared towards a potentially productive and broadened collaboration between the two countries. He added that the forthcoming foreign policy consultation between the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs and Bangladesh Ministry of Foreign Affairs will serve as an ideal avenue in framing the plans and programs of the bilateral cooperation.  END
