17 November 2014 - Before an audience which composed of almost 60 individuals from the business, banking and commercial sectors in Hawaii and visiting local government officials from the Philippines on November 13, Philippine Consul General Gina A. Jamoralin made a presentation entitled “The Philippine Advantage” which highlights recent upheavals in the Philippine economy, characterized by GDP growth, inflow of overseas remittances, steady investment flows, robust domestic financial sector, efficient revenue collection, improvements in global competitiveness ranking and strengthened governance and anti-corruption measures, among many indicators.

She also discussed the competitive strengths of the Philippines as an investment destination, priority industries that are being promoted by the Philippine Government and measures to attract foreign investors to the country.

“We continue to be optimistic about the prospects for the Philippines and to strategically take advantage of market opportunities and boost our stature as one of the best investment destinations in the world,” Consul General Jamoralin said.

The event was organized by the Filipino Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii (FCCH) as part of its monthly membership meeting. Aside from FCCH members special guests of the evening include Major General Darryll Wong, Adjutant General of the Hawaii National Guard and delegates of the 2014 Conference of Local Governments in Asia-Pacific which comprise of municipal mayors from the Philippines.

The event was also an opportunity for the Consul General and the FCCH to promote the 25th Trade Mission to the Philippines which will be held in February 2015 and to be led by Consul General Jamoralin. END
