You need JavaScript enabled to view it., the only association of Filipinos in Myanmar, travelled for five hours from Yangon to Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar’s capital, to meet with Philippine President Benigno S. Aquino III at the Nay Pyi Taw International Airport on November 13.

You need JavaScript enabled to view it., presented President Aquino with a gemstone painting of the Madonna and Child. President Aquino upon receiving the gift said it reminded him of his mother’s painting of the Madonna and Child.
Ms. Esperanza Ordono-Saw, a marketing manager at Global Sky Ltd., one of the biggest distributing companies in Myanmar, commented “Nagulat ako sa pagtanggap ni Presidente sa amin. Malayo rin ang byahe mula Yangon pero tuwang tuwa akong makita si Presidente lalu na noong sinabi niyang nagustuhan niya ang regalo namin sa kanya.” (I was pleasantly surprised. It was a long travel from Yangon, but I was very happy to meet the President especially when he said he liked the gift we gave him.)
President Aquino III was in Myanmar to attend the 25th ASEAN Summit on November 11 to 13. He is the second Philippine President to have visited Myanmar since then-President Fidel V. Ramos undertook a State Visit to Myanmar in October 1997. END
