25 November 2014 - Manila-based executives of Cebu Pacific Air, one of the Philippines’ largest carriers in the air transportation industry which pioneered the “low fare, great value strategy,” paid a courtesy call on Philippine Consul General to Honolulu Gina A. Jamoralin on November 18 at the Philippine Consulate General.
Mr. Joel G. Aquino, District Sales Manager for Manila and Luzon, and Ms. Arlene C. Tena, Director for Passenger Sales, visited Honolulu from November 16 to 20 to meet and touch base with travel agencies, members of the Filipino community, business groups, Honolulu International Airport officials, and the Philippine Consulate in connection with the airline’s planned expansion of international routes to the United States, following the Philippines’ reinstatement to Category 1 status by the US Federal Aviation Authority early this year.
Cebu Pacific is hoping to have its inaugural flight to Honolulu from Manila in the middle of next year. It will be the air carrier’s second route to the US, next to Guam.
During the call, the Consul General Jamoralin expressed appreciation for Cebu Pacific’s announcement, which will open up more opportunities for business and tourism travels for the Filipino and American people through its offer of competitive airfare and thrice--a-week Manila-Honolulu flights in 2015.
