28 November 2014 – Philippine Embassy in Rome headed by Vice Consul Margret Malang conducted consular services and overseas registration in Malta for the at least 2,000 Filipinos working and living in the island from November 22 to 23.
The seven-member consular team processed 96 passport renewal applications, 18 reports of birth and marriage, 99 authentication of employment contracts, 17 notarials, 1 visa application, 1 dual citizenship application and 5 certificates.
Labor Attache Viveca Catalig interviewed employers and verified the employment contracts of 99 Filipinos working in households, hotels, restaurants and massage parlors, to ensure that their contracts comply with both Philippine and Maltese labor laws.
Finally, Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Project Term Personnel, Mr. Dennis Ricaplaza registered 104 new overseas voters and answered queries about the upcoming 2016 Presidential Elections. END
