01 December 2014 - Philippine Ambassador to Thailand Jocelyn Batoon-Garcia and Embassy officials called on Governor Sak Somboonto of the Province of Phrae in Northwestern Thailand on November 11. Ambassador Batoon-Garcia and the Governor exchanged ideas on how to promote economic relations, including trade and tourism, between Phrae and the Philippines. They talked about the Filipino community’s constructive role in Phrae. They discussed steps to improve coordination on activities and concerns of the Filipino community and the local government units. Ambassador Batoon-Garcia introduced the incoming Philippine Honorary Consul, Mr. Agkarajit Phanomvan Na Ayudhya, to the Governor, local officials, and the Filipino community.
The Embassy consular team, headed by Vice Consul Jay Alcantara and including Ms. Rowena Tolosa, Mr. Erlito Bayaga, Ms. Pilar Binuya and Ms. Michelle Espiritu, conducted a consular outreach program for the Filipino community. Vice Consul Alcantara conducted a seminar on various important subjects related to the Filipino community in the province of Phrae. END
