01 December 2014 – The Philippine Consulate General in Toronto conducted its last consular outreach mission for 2014 from November 20 to 25 at the Philippine Canadian Center of Manitoba (PCCM)  in Winnipeg. The outreach successfully  processed a total of 1,858 applications for passport renewals, with  a record-breaking 1,108 new overseas voter registrants (60% of passport applicants) for the Consulate General’s on-going mobile overseas voters registration.

A total of 39 Filipino Canadians reacquired their Philippine citizenship with their oath-taking witnessed by Philippine Honorary Consul General Orlando Marcelino. The Philippine Consulate General in Toronto’s mobile outreach was undertaken with the full support and able assistance of Honorary Consul General Marcelino, in coordination with the Friends of Filipino Immigrants in Winnipeg and its Vice President, Rey Sangalang, and the Philippine Canadian Center of Manitoba.

Philippine Honorary Consul Ronald Opina extended technical assistance  that included  a running video of the Consulate General’s tourism project, “Winter Escapade 2 :  January 30 to February 06, 2015”.  Minister for Multiculturalism and Literacy, Mrs Flor Marcelino,  wife of Honorary Consul General Marcelino and Mrs. Corrie Marcelino, wife of MLA Ted Marcelino also took time out to assist in this outreach. The Consulate team consisted of Consul Shirley E. Banquicio as team leader,  Mr. Roberto Ruben Fajardo, Mr. Reynaldo Ladrica, Mr. Augusto S. Gonzales, Ms. Ma. Cristina P. Sablon, Ms. Fatima Rhaisieta J. Muallam, Mr. Rolando Mangante, Ms. Naome Godinez and Mr. Philip L. Decasa. END
