01 December 2014 – Philippine Consul General Mohd. Noordin Pendosina N. Lomondot of the Philippine Embassy in Bangladesh administered the swearing into office of Mr. Tholka Mudiyanselage Hugh Sriyal Tevindra Dissanayake as Philippine Honorary Consul in the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka at a simple ceremony held in Colombo on November 21. Sri Lanka falls under the jurisdiction of the Philippine Embassy in Bangladesh.
Members of the Filipino community, business groups and family of Mr. Dissanayake witnessed the oath-taking ceremony and congratulated him on his appointment.
Following the ceremony, Consul General Lomondot had a meeting with Honorary Consul Dissanayake and members of the business and Filipino communities to discuss plans and courses of action for the opening of operations of the new Philippine Consulate in Colombo. Mr. Dissanayake expressed his strong commitment to rendering efficient services to advance the bilateral relations between the Philippines and Sri Lanka through engaging in more trade and tourism cooperation and ensuring the promotion of welfare of Filipinos in the country.
