Singapore

3 December 2014 – Two groups of Philippine local government officials who were on separate study and familiarization tours in Singapore paid courtesy visits at the Philippine Embassy on November 26.

In the morning, the barangay officials of Quezon City visited the Philippine chancery. The group came to Singapore under the city government’s Foreign Academic Training program.

In the afternoon, a delegation from the Philippine Councilors League Legislative Academy, headed by Dr. Larry Caminero and Dr. Josephine Flores and composed of officials and members of the Philippine Councilors League (PCL), also visited the chancery. The group visited Singapore as part of their requirement to complete their post-graduate studies at the academy.

Officials of the Philippine Embassy, headed by Philippine Ambassador Antonio A. Morales, received the visitors and took the opportunity to exchange views with them on a range of issues including best practices in Singapore that can be used as models and be replicated in the Philippines. The visiting groups were also updated on the status of Philippines-Singapore relations and the situation of Filipinos in the city-state. END
