The Philippine Embassy in Dhaka hosted a simple get-together with the Filipino community at the social hall of the Embassy on November 28 to commemorate the birth anniversary of the Philippine revolutionary hero, Gat Andres Bonifacio.

The program commenced with the flag-raising ceremony at the Philippine Embassy grounds.  It was an enlightening celebration highlighted by the holding of a forum on the West Philippine Sea issue and video presentation on the valiant struggle and death of Bonifacio.

Philippine Ambassador to Bangladesh Vicente Vivencio T. Bandillo delivered a brief on the West Philippine Sea (WPS) and the actions being taken by the government in addressing the issue. 

 “Let us not neglect the sacrifices that our national heroes like Andres Bonifacio did to give us our country and sovereignty.  Let us be one in defending what is ours,” said Ambassador Bandillo as he encouraged everyone in the audience to keep themselves updated on the issue and have the initiative, in their own way, to back the Philippine government in its actions.  END
