Zurich11 December 2014 – A one-night concert of Filipino performance artists Eunice Miller (soprano), Charise Dumlao (piano), and Markus Hühne (violin) was held on December 05 in Zollikon, canton of Zurich, Switzerland.

The concert, entitled “Tindog Tacloban” (arise Tacloban) was organized by the Ketsana Foundation Philippines-Switzerland to commemorate the triumph of the Filipino spirit in the face of adversity and natural calamities.  Proceeds of the concert are to be allocated in the rebuilding of a school in Samar.

The concert was also the foundation’s way of expressing gratitude to the Swiss people who have wholeheartedly contributed to the rebuilding efforts in the Philippines after the onslaught of typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda in November 2013.

The event was attended by a good mix of Swiss, foreigners, and members of the Filipino community in Zurich.

The audience expressed delight at hearing classical German pieces, and the classical Filipino pieces— lullaby “Sa Ugoy ng Duyan” (in the cradle’s rocking) and love song “Minamahal Kita” (I am loving you).

Ketsana Foundation was established in Switzerland 2009 by Filipino couples Franklin and Elizabeth Patricio and Jun and Mila Asuncion in the wake of typhoon Ketsana/Ondoy which caused widespread flooding in the Philippines in September 2009. END
