11 December 2014 – The Philippine Embassy in Budapest participated in the Fourth Diplomatic Fair 2014 organized by the Diplomatic Spouses of Budapest (DSB) on November 30 at the Intercontinental Hotel in Budapest.
The Philippines was among many Embassies represented that sold food, souvenirs, gift items, packed foods, wines, and other products native to their respective countries.
This year, the five ASEAN countries represented in Hungary, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam, all came together in one “ASEAN Group” selling food and native delicacies. The Philippine food stall was one of the most popular, selling embotido with rice, Philippine coffee from the Filipino coffee shop in Budapest called Barako Kavehaz, mamon, leche flan, cassava cake, buchi and pastillas, to name a few.
Philippine products such as the popular mango juice, Cebu dried mango, Mango Rum Liqueur were offered at the National Stand. This year, COMFOODS products such as Choco Crunchies and Choco Mallows were introduced. Oishi Products such as Oishi Prawn Crackers and Marty’s Cracklins were a big hit with the crowd. Fresh water pearls from the Philippines, as well as assorted jewelry and souvenirs were also sold. The Philippine booths also showcased the unique Christmas “parols”. END
